Veteran's Day Open House
Veterans and Scouts gather for a photo during the Veteran's Day Open House at the VTOT Tribute to mark the 100th anniversary of the day the guns fell silent on the Western Front in World-War I.
Braving Rain - the Tribute is dedicated!
Despite the rain, over 500 people donned rain gear in order to take part in the patriotic festivities, highlighted by an Ohio National Guard F16 flyover and a stirring rendition of our national anthem. Click on the image above to see the slide show!
You can find your paver's location in the "Find My Paver" search tool.
We have completed the Spring Installation of engraved pavers at the Tribute. We are in the process of loading the images to the 'Find My Paver' tool.
Thank you for honoring a Veteran with a Paver and we hope you can get to the Tribute soon to see the new pavers.
New orders received by August 30th, 2019 will be installed by Veteran's Day 2019.
Help Support the Tribute
- Monday, May 27th: Memorial Day Please join us for the
11:00 am Memorial Day Parade & Flag Ceremony. The parade route will be on Adams Road from Van Hoosen Middle School
north to Veterans Tribute of Oakland Township, at 5236 Adams Road.
Parking is available at the
Van Hoosen Middle School (North of Tienken and Adams), Crown of Life Lutheran Church (Dutton and Adams) and Oakland Church (Silverbell and Adams).
The VTOT will raise the US Flag at the Site when the Parade reaches the Tribute.
The VTOT will also be taking orders for engraved brick pavers to be installed this fall. The parade will include marching bands, Veterans Groups,
floats and military vehicles and even a historic plane flyover!
Attendance is free and open to the public. For more information,
Our thanks to the cities of Rochester, Rochester Hills, the Rochester Regional Chamber of Commerce,
and the Oakland Township Kroger for their generous support.
- Volunteers Needed: The VTOT is seeking two new members to join our volunteer staff. We are looking for a Webmaster and a
Brick Paver Coordinator. Our webmaster posts pictures and other information to the website to keep it current, and
manages the “Find Your Paver” tool on the webpage. Our paver coordinator tracks orders for engraved brick pavers during the year,
and twice a year submits an order to the paver engraver to get them made. Both positions involve some calls,
emails and the occasional monthly meeting. If you have a few hours each month and would like to donate your time in
support of Veterans and the VTOT project, please contact Board Members Tim Reese (email@example.com) or
Terry Gonser (firstname.lastname@example.org). These are fun and rewarding positions!

Donor of the day
The VTOT would like to give a very big shout out to Ron Marino and the construction crew at Glencorp, Inc in Shelby Township, MI. The Glencorp team made a huge donation to the project by donating their equipment and time to do all the earth moving and site grading for the Tribute. We could never complete a project of this size without the great support of companies such as Glencorp. Thank you!
