5236 Adams Rd – Oakland Township, Michigan
Thank You for Celebrating With Us! Thank you to everyone who joined the Veterans Tribute of Oakland Township on Sunday, November 9th, to celebrate Veterans Day. It was an honor to celebrate the service and accomplishments of our Nation’s Veterans. It was encouraging to see a good crowd despite the snow and wind!
This Veterans Day, we also celebrated the 250th Anniversary of the founding of the US Marine Corps on November 10th, 1775. Yes, like the US Army and Navy – the US Marine Corps is older that the United States, all having been formed by the Continental Congress before it declared independence from Britain in the summer of 1776. In addition, we were honored to dedicate 4 new monuments that were installed at the Tribute location during 2025. Three families sponsored new Freedom Benches which are great places to sit and reflect upon the beaty of the Tribute and the Veterans it honors – the Casadei’s, the Sokols, and Ms. Matuszewski. Last, but by no means least, the 6924th US Air Force Security Squadron Association sponsored our newest granite marker – the Unit Honor Roll marker which will allow military units and organizations to commemorate their unit.
We are grateful to our Veterans, their families, and all who continue to support the mission of honoring service and sacrifice in our community.
